About The Position

The Department of Administration is seeking an experienced Recruiter to manage the full recruitment cycle, from sourcing and attracting candidates to interviewing and collaborating on hiring decisions. This role works closely with department leadership and HR Business Partners to proactively identify hiring needs and ensure the organization attracts, hires, and retains top talent while maintaining a strong talent pipeline. This role will be responsible for ensuring jobs are classified properly in compliance with applicable occupational and FLSA standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in human resources, business administration, public administration, or a related field.
  • Three or more years of related work experience.
  • Certification to perform job classifications for the State of Montana (must be obtained within six (6) months of starting the role if not held at time of hire).
  • Knowledge of Full-Cycle Recruitment: Understanding every stage of hiring, from initial job requisition and intake meetings to candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Knowledge of Employment Law & Compliance: Knowledge of local, state, and federal labor regulations, equal opportunity guidelines, and non-discriminatory hiring practices.
  • Familiarity with Recruitment Technology: Familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Ability to influence through strong working relationships, expertise, and data and can effectively support a complex set of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the organization attracts, hires, and retains top talent while maintaining a strong talent pipeline.
  • Ensure jobs are classified properly in compliance with applicable occupational and FLSA standards.
  • Screen resumes and job applications to identify qualified candidates by assessing applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations, and state policies.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Maintain accurate candidate records and track recruitment metrics.
