About The Position

This role combines hands-on human resources responsibilities with full-cycle recruiting in labor-intensive, field-based environments such as construction, skilled trades, manufacturing, logistics, and industrial services. You will partner closely with hiring managers to plan workforce needs, challenge assumptions when necessary, and manage end-to-end recruiting while supporting core HR operations, employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and benefits-related activities. This position is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys both strategic talent acquisition and day-to-day HR support and is ready to take the next step in a growing, evolving organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in recruiting, human resources, or talent acquisition.
  • Proven experience managing full-cycle recruiting processes, including intake meetings, job descriptions, sourcing, interviewing, and offers.
  • Background in HR generalist, HR coordinator, talent acquisition specialist, construction recruiter with HR responsibilities, or similar HR/recruiting hybrid roles.
  • Experience supporting recruiting for labor-intensive workforces in industries such as construction, skilled trades, manufacturing, logistics, waste management, environmental services, transportation, industrial services, or facilities management.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to adapt to different personality types and build trust with employees and managers at all levels.
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills and consultative partnership with managers, including the ability to challenge hiring assumptions and influence decision makers.
  • Experience with employee relations, including handling difficult employee issues in a professional and confidential manner.
  • Hands-on HR compliance experience, including compliance tracking and related administrative processes.
  • Experience coordinating open enrollment and supporting benefits administration activities.
  • Experience managing new hire onboarding and internal HR communications.
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities, with the capacity to balance recruiting responsibilities and HR operational work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Experience working directly with hiring managers and supporting multi-level teams.
  • Comfort working with employees from diverse backgrounds and varying experience levels.
  • Ability to measure and interpret recruiting metrics to evaluate and improve recruiting effectiveness.

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS systems such as Paylocity or similar platforms.
  • Payroll exposure or experience supporting payroll processes.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for a variety of roles in construction, skilled trades, waste management, environmental services, manufacturing, logistics, transportation, industrial services, and facilities management.
  • Conduct intake meetings with hiring managers to clarify role requirements, define success profiles, and align on hiring timelines and priorities.
  • Write clear, accurate, and engaging job descriptions tailored to labor-intensive and field-service positions.
  • Source candidates using platforms such as Indeed and other job boards, as well as career fairs and networking channels.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers, ensuring a positive and efficient candidate experience.
  • Lead the offer process, including preparing offer documentation and supporting managers in extending and negotiating offers.
  • Track and report recruiting metrics to measure recruiting effectiveness and inform continuous improvement efforts.
  • Participate in workforce planning discussions and headcount reviews to determine whether additional hires are truly needed and to optimize staffing levels.
  • Act as a consultative partner to managers, challenging hiring assumptions when appropriate and influencing decision makers with data and insights.
  • Support employee relations activities, including helping address difficult employee issues and supporting fair, consistent HR practices.
  • Own or support HR compliance activities, including compliance tracking and insurance-related compliance processes.
  • Coordinate open enrollment activities, supporting benefits administration and employee communications related to benefit changes.
  • Manage new hire onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition for employees from offer acceptance through their first days and weeks.
  • Support internal communications related to HR programs, policies, benefits, and organizational changes.
  • Work with employees and managers across multiple sites or business units, adapting communication style to different personality types and levels of experience.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and documentation in HRIS systems and other HR administrative tools.
  • Provide administrative HR support as needed, including tasks related to payroll exposure, benefits, and surveys.
  • Collaborate with leadership to support organizational changes as the company expands and reorganizes positions.
