About The Position

UCP Long Island is a not-for-profit agency dedicated to advancing the independence, productivity, and full citizenship of individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities. With over 75 years of service, we are committed to 'Creating Life Without Limits for People With Disabilities!' We are seeking an experienced Recruiter to manage recruitment activities for our organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of related recruitment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain continuous communication with management to determine current and future recruitment needs.
  • Source qualified candidates using applicant tracking system, internet postings, specialized recruitment resources, employee referral programs, job fairs, professional affiliations and contacts, colleges and universities, social media, etc.
  • Determine the suitability of the applicant for employment by analyzing resume/application information and conducting personal interviews.
  • Perform background and reference investigations to gather adequate information for selection decisions, considering previous experience and education.
  • Determine salary based on salary structure and union contracts.
  • Handle clerical aspects of employment, such as notifying departments of employee start dates and the positions being filled.
  • Process all authorization to fill requests for proper approval and track on a monthly report.
  • Promote the 'promote from within' policy by being involved in the posting program for internal openings.
  • Responsible for weekly job postings and postings on the Agency’s website and intranet.
  • Act as a liaison with area employment agencies, advertising agencies, and temporary agencies.
  • Record the status of authorized positions within the agency, handle employment verifications, and manage employee referral programs.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with community business and educational organizations to promote public relations and networking.
  • Distribute job descriptions to supervisors for all new employees upon hire.
  • Process all volunteer requests and coordinate placement with appropriate programs.
