HR Operations Manager

ABBYY
Hybrid

About The Position

The HR Operations Manager is a senior individual contributor role within ABBYY’s global Human Resources function and reports directly to the Director of Talent Acquisition & HR Operations. This role owns and drives HR Operations for the United States employee population and serves as the end‑to‑end owner of HR systems of record, including HiBob (HRIS) and Greenhouse (ATS). The position operates in a hybrid / work‑from‑home model and requires minimal travel, estimated at less than 5% annually. This role is designed for a hands‑on HR operator and builder—someone who deeply understands how HR processes, systems, data, and compliance intersect and who operates with clear accountability for outcomes. You will act as a trusted right‑hand partner to HR leadership, owning the design, execution, and continuous improvement of scalable, compliant HR operations while delivering a strong employee and manager experience. This role is intended for an experienced individual contributor who can build and scale operations today and who has the potential to grow into broader operational leadership over time.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in HR Operations, HRIS, or People Operations, operating in a senior individual contributor capacity.
  • Hands‑on HiBob experience required, including workflow configuration and system ownership.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. HR operations and the full employee lifecycle; multi‑state experience required.
  • Proven ability to build and scale processes, not just operate or maintain them.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with accountability for outcomes, not just participation.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in HR data, reporting, audits, and data quality management.
  • High attention to detail with a finance‑grade standard for accuracy, controls, and compliance.
  • Clear, confident communicator with strong judgment and a service‑oriented mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Greenhouse or another enterprise ATS strongly preferred.
  • Global HR exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own and operate HR Operations for the U.S. employee population, partnering closely with the Director of Talent Acquisition & HR Operations.
  • Drive consistent execution of global HR policies, procedures, and workflows, ensuring compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point for complex employee and manager inquiries, delivering clear, compliant, and pragmatic guidance.
  • Own end‑to‑end HR lifecycle processes, including onboarding, job and compensation changes, leaves of absence, and offboarding.
  • Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance across all HR systems of record.
  • Lead cross‑functional execution with Payroll, Legal, Finance, and IT to ensure coordinated, timely, and compliant HR operations throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Own the end‑to‑end workflows, configuration, and evolution of HiBob as the primary HR system of record.
  • Own ATS workflows and system alignment within Greenhouse, ensuring seamless integration between recruiting, onboarding, and downstream HR processes.
  • Design, build, and optimize workflows, automations, permissions, templates, custom fields, and lifecycle events across HR systems.
  • Translate HR and business requirements into scalable, sustainable system solutions that support growth.
  • Continuously identify and eliminate manual work, improve system usability, and strengthen data integrity.
  • Independently troubleshoot system issues and drive resolution with vendors or internal partners as needed.
  • Own data integrity and systems‑of‑records accuracy across HR, ATS, and downstream systems.
  • Operate with a controls mindset, ensuring audit readiness, traceability, and reconciliation of HR data.
  • Perform regular audits, reconciliations, and compliance checks, addressing issues at the root cause.
  • Design and maintain recurring and ad‑hoc reporting to support audits, compliance, and leadership decision‑making.
  • Own integrations and data flows between HR systems and Payroll, Finance, and IT platforms.
  • Design and document scalable HR workflows, operational procedures, and SOPs across the employee lifecycle.
  • Ensure documentation accurately reflects current system configurations, policies, and operational practices.
  • Proactively identify gaps, inefficiencies, and operational risk, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead standardization efforts with global HR Operations partners while accounting for regional requirements.
