We're looking for an HR Operations & Onboarding Specialist to join our team in Raleigh, NC. Location: Raleigh, NC Schedule: Full-Time Onsite FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Pay & Benefits: Competitive compensation + comprehensive benefits package The HR Operations & Onboarding Specialist is responsible for creating an outstanding onboarding experience for new employees while supporting key HR Operations processes. This role coordinates all aspects of onboarding through Workday, facilitates new hire orientation, maintains employee data integrity, and collaborates with teams across the organization to ensure employees are set up for success from day one. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, managing processes, and improving the employee experience through operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR Operations, onboarding, HR administration, employee services, or a related area.
  • Experience using Workday to manage onboarding activities and employee data.
  • Experience facilitating presentations, orientations, training sessions, or workshops.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and project coordination abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Outstanding customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Strong problem-solving and process improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the onboarding process for approximately 25-50 new hires each week using Workday.
  • Serve as the primary contact for new hires from offer acceptance through onboarding completion.
  • Ensure onboarding tasks, documentation, and pre-employment requirements are completed accurately and on time.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Benefits, IT, and hiring managers to prepare employees for successful first days.
  • Maintain employee records and onboarding transactions while ensuring confidentiality and data accuracy.
  • Facilitate engaging new hire orientation sessions and introduce employees to MPG's culture, benefits, policies, and resources.
  • Answer employee questions and provide guidance throughout the onboarding journey.
  • Monitor onboarding metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Partner with HRIS, Training & Development, and Talent Acquisition teams to improve onboarding workflows.
  • Support reporting, data validation, audits, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for onboarding processes and best practices.
  • Help create a welcoming and inclusive employee experience that supports long-term success.
