About The Position

G&C Food Distributors is a re-distributor of refrigerated, frozen, and dry food, storing and delivering over 4,000 food items to customers across 27 states and 35 countries. The company is rapidly expanding and seeking a professional and dynamic Onboarding Partner in Syracuse, NY. This role involves representing the company while performing HR tasks such as recruiting, onboarding, and maintaining HRIS data. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, a self-driven team player, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Patience, flexibility, and a warm, friendly, and accommodating manner are essential as HR serves all employees and addresses personnel issues.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in related field required.
  • Application tracking and HRIS Experience required.
  • 3+ years' experience in HR for a medium-sized company required.
  • 3-5 years' experience in recruiting required.
  • Knowledge of Federal and multi-state HR laws and DOL procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: relationship building, enthusiasm, and ability to lean into challenging situations.
  • Must be diplomatic and proactive in keeping recruiting and onboarding efforts moving forward.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy are critical.
  • Strong computer skills, including ADP Workforce, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrate ability to manage multiple and complex administrative processes.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with multiple departments.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR Certification preferred.
  • Bilingual preference.

Responsibilities

  • Presenting to small/medium-sized groups of employees.
  • Full Lifecycle of Recruiting: Reviewing applications, screening candidates, coordinating phone calls, video and in-person interviews for Operational Staff. Assistance with creating agendas, arranging travel, and coordinating appropriately with all involved, ensuring all paperwork is collected, communicating with applicants throughout the recruiting process.
  • Onboarding: Initiating applicable background checks and medical testing, entering data into the HRIS System, creating first day/week agendas, answering new hire questions, coordinating with others for a great onboarding experience, working with hiring managers for support, and following up with new hires post-start in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Orientation: Administering and conducting weekly or bi-weekly company orientations covering company culture, state and federal documentation requirements, and handbook policy. Ensuring internal electronic and physical bulletin boards are up to date regarding onboarding, candidate pipeline, and other requested information/data.
  • Ownership of FLSA classification and compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team with employees at all levels.
  • Lead and promote diversity recruitment efforts.
  • Timely response/resolution of employee concerns when dealing with a wide range of employee concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality of critical information/data.
  • Works under moderate supervision and oversight.
