About The Position

Healthy At Home Caregivers is seeking an experienced, energetic, and highly organized HR professional to lead caregiver recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and employee compliance. This is a full-time position with a hybrid schedule, requiring a minimum of three days in the office. The role involves managing the entire caregiver lifecycle from recruitment to ongoing employee support and compliance.

Requirements

  • At least two years of direct HR, caregiver recruitment, or employee-onboarding experience with a home care or home health company.
  • Must pass a Live Scan fingerprint background check
  • Must complete required state disclosure and reporting forms, including mandated reporting for suspected abuse of dependent adults and elders
  • Valid I-9 employment eligibility documents
  • Current TB clearance
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Experience managing caregiver personnel files, employment clearances, and compliance documentation.
  • Hands-on experience using Axis Care, Paylocity, and Guardian.
  • Working knowledge of Live Scan, background clearances, TB requirements, I-9 verification, and caregiver training requirements.
  • Strong interviewing, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Comfortable communicating by telephone, text, email, video meetings, and in person.
  • Ability to work independently during remote days while remaining available and responsive.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to attend recruiting events or community partnerships when needed.
  • Ability to work a minimum of three days each week in our Dana Point office.
  • Availability to participate in weekend on-call coverage.
  • Home care or home health HR/onboarding experience is mandatory. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit and interview caregivers for open cases and future staffing needs.
  • Screen candidates for experience, availability, reliability, professionalism, and job fit.
  • Maintain consistent communication with applicants throughout the hiring process.
  • Conduct employment reference checks and coordinate background clearances.
  • Keep an active pipeline of qualified caregivers ready for placement.
  • Build relationships with CNA schools, nursing schools, vocational programs, job fairs, and community recruiting partners.
  • Assist with job postings and other caregiver recruitment campaigns.
  • Manage each caregiver’s onboarding process from the initial interview through clearance and activation.
  • Coordinate Live Scan fingerprinting, Guardian clearance, TB testing, I-9 verification, employment documents, CPR certification, and required training.
  • Conduct new-hire orientation and explain company policies, attendance expectations, confidentiality, documentation, and caregiver responsibilities.
  • Verify that all required documents and certifications are complete before a caregiver begins working.
  • Follow up promptly with candidates who have incomplete or missing requirements.
  • Create a positive and efficient onboarding experience that keeps strong candidates engaged.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential caregiver personnel files.
  • Enter and update employee information in AxisCare, Paylocity, and Guardian.
  • Monitor expiring documents, certifications, training, and other employment requirements.
  • Conduct caregiver check-ins and support employee engagement and retention.
  • Assist with performance evaluations, attendance concerns, coaching, and disciplinary documentation.
  • Respond professionally to caregiver questions and workplace concerns.
  • Escalate serious employee or compliance matters to management.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow applicable California employment and home care requirements.
  • Work closely with scheduling and care coordination to identify staffing priorities.
  • Help match qualified caregivers with available client assignments.
  • Provide backup support for scheduling and care coordination when needed.
  • Participate in weekend on-call coverage.
  • Assist with HR projects, process improvements, and other responsibilities that support company growth.
