What You’ll Do: As an HR Manager , you will play a vital leadership role within the Human Resources team, reporting to the Director of Human Resources. This position supports Goodwill’s mission by ensuring consistent, compliant, and people-centered HR practices across the organization. You’ll help foster a positive workplace culture by supporting employees and leaders, strengthening HR operations, and ensuring staff across all programs can thrive while advancing Goodwill’s community impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of HR experience, with focus on employee relations, compliance, or HR operations
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices, multi-state experience preferred
  • Experience supporting employee relations issues and investigations
  • Ability to provide guidance and informal leadership to team members
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to navigate complex and sensitive situations with professionalism and sound judgment
  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Paycor preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen

Nice To Haves

  • Professional HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support daily HR operations, ensuring consistent policies, efficient workflows, and strong team performance
  • Serve as the primary resource for employee relations, including issue resolution, investigations, and guidance to leaders. Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies (FMLA, ADA, wage & hour, etc.)
  • Oversee key HR programs including leave administration, accommodations, recruiting, onboarding, and performance management. Maintain accurate HR records and HRIS data, supporting reporting, documentation, and system functionality
  • Partner with leadership to improve HR processes, support supervisors, and drive data-informed decisions and continuous improvement
