About The Position

CMC:Berkshires (CMCB) is a private 15-bed residential treatment center located on 200 acres in the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts. We are driven by optimism about people’s capacity to change and by our commitment to the science of change. The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This role supports business needs and ensures the proper implementation of company objectives through effective management of the HR function. Salary exempt 30 hours a week but fluctuates based on HR activity. 100% remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in HR Administration, Business, Psychology or related field
  • Experience supporting a rehabilitation/ clinical/ medical organization
  • Proven working experience as an administrative HR Manager or similar role
  • Experience as a coach; ability to provide feedback in a clear and concise manner
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases; experience working with third party vendors
  • Strong understanding of Federal and Massachusetts/ CT labor laws
  • Knowledge of MA PMFL and FMLA leave procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; sense of urgency to employee inquiries
  • Leadership and decision-making abilities
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Approachable, ability to work with all types of personalities
  • Results-oriented; ability to multi-task, strong attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD, PHR/SPHR) preferred
  • Previous experience supporting employees virtually
  • Preferred experience with Paylocity, Google Docs

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of administration within the Human Resources department in compliance with federal and state regulations including payroll, benefits, compensation, compliance, recruiting, employee relations, and workers compensation for an organization of 75+/- employees.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process in partnership with the hiring managers (job postings, interviews, hiring)
  • Manage payroll through Paylocity payroll system
  • Oversee new employee onboarding, orientation, and training programs
  • Handle employee relations issues, grievances, and disciplinary procedures including employee relations investigations in partnership with on-site leaders
  • Ensure legal compliance with labor laws and company policies
  • Maintain employee records and HR documentation within HR portal
  • Oversee benefits in partnership with outside vendor
  • Coach managers on employee related topics, respond to employee inquiries
  • Promote a positive workplace culture through proactive and positive communications
  • Collaborate with executive management on employee related programs/ initiatives
