Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of HR operations experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment, ideally FMCG.
  • Proven experience in a unionized environment, including hands-on labor relations and grievance management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage across all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality with employee information.
  • Ability and willingness to work off-shifts and support night shift employees.

Responsibilities

  • Lead talent processes for the factory population, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, development planning, and succession planning.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the Head of Factory and leadership team on people strategy, organizational effectiveness, and change management.
  • Partner with site leadership to identify skill gaps and coordinate learning and training initiatives for both hourly and salaried populations.
  • Oversee critical HR processes such as workforce planning, headcount management, and absenteeism control.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation, labor laws, occupational health & safety requirements, and internal policies.
  • Interpret, administer, and ensure compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
  • Lead grievance management, investigations, and resolutions, including preparation for arbitration where required.
  • Advise line leaders on discipline, attendance, performance, and corrective action in line with the CBA, company policy, and employment legislation.
  • Support collective bargaining preparation and negotiations, including data analysis, costing, and communication planning.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives aligned with site priorities, safety culture, and wellness.
  • Support respectful workplace practices and inclusion within a diverse, hourly workforce.
  • Lead employee communication efforts related to HR programs, change initiatives, and labor relations topics.
