About The Position

Hudbay is seeking a dynamic HR Coordinator (Labour Relations) to serve as a key pillar of support for the Manitoba Business Unit in Snow Lake, MB. This role manages the intersection of policy compliance, union relations, and employee development. The position involves acting as a primary point person for five union partners, hearing high-level grievances, leading workplace investigations, and serving as an instructor for core HR training programs. The role is located in Snow Lake, MB on a 5 days on/2 days off schedule. At Hudbay, the atmosphere is fast-paced, dynamic, and built on trust. Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree in Human Resources with specialty in Labour Relations (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent grammar, business letter and report writing skills
  • A clear and succinct communicator (verbal and written)
  • Proven ability to navigate high-tension situations and resolve conflicts both internally with staff and externally with union leadership
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, taking initiative

Responsibilities

  • Support all levels of management in the MBU on Collective Bargaining Agreements, HR policies, and procedures including: preparing Labour Relations correspondence ie: unauthorized leaves of absence, coaching letters, memorandum of agreements, performance improvement plans, and termination letters.
  • Hear Step 3 grievances, conduct fact-finding, and draft formal Company responses.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for five unions to build collaborative relationships.
  • Administer the Co-operative Wage Study(CWS) system across all bargaining units.
  • Lead the Alcohol and Drug Program, including testing decisions, logistics, and vendor payments.
  • Provide guidance to management on CBA interpretation and HR policies.
  • Draft and revise HR policies with leadership while ensuring strict document control.
  • Conduct formal investigations into harassment and policy violations.
  • Lead learning sessions on Attendance, AWOl, Non-Punitive Discipline, and Respect in the Workplace.
  • Facilitate attendance meetings and deliver monthly data reports to management.
