About The Position

BorgWarner is seeking an HR Intern to support its Americas HR Shared Services team. The role provides reliable, efficient HR operational support to local HR teams and employees, including responding to HR inquiries, administering Workday for the U.S., supporting improvement projects, conducting compliance audits, and helping ensure data accuracy. The position works across HRIS, Payroll, Total Rewards, and Talent.

This is a year-round, ongoing internship based at BorgWarner’s Propulsion Technical Center in Auburn Hills, Michigan, with a hybrid work arrangement. The intern must be able to work 20–29 hours per week and be fluent in Spanish and English.

Requirements

• Must be able to work 20–29 hours per week.
• Must be fluent in Spanish and English.
• Must be an undergraduate or graduate full-time student attending an accredited university as a business major, with an interest in Human Resources.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with technology platforms such as Canva and DocuSign is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data maintenance in HRIS, payroll, and other systems as needed.
• Manage the Americas Shared Services Outlook inbox and Business Requests within Workday.
• Support improvement projects and optimization programs.
• Assist with audits to ensure accuracy and compliance across multiple HR systems.
• Serve as a first point of contact for employees’ questions and concerns, escalating issues to the Manager when needed.
• Work across HRIS, Payroll, Total Rewards, and Talent functions.
• Perform other related responsibilities as assigned or required.
• Adhere to the Global Star Safety Program and applicable safety rules, practices, and training; take reasonable precautions and report injuries or potentially dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.
