About The Position

BRC is seeking two motivated and detail-oriented interns to support the Human Resources team with onboarding, orientation, recruitment coordination, and employee relations efforts. This internship offers hands-on experience in HR operations, employee engagement, and recruitment logistics within a mission-driven nonprofit organization. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, adaptable, and comfortable interacting with new hires, staff, and candidates in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student pursuing Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Communications, or a related field preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Professional demeanor and customer-service mindset
  • Interest in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, or employee experience

Responsibilities

  • Prepare onboarding and orientation materials for new hires
  • Support the coordination, logistics, and execution of new hire orientation sessions. Ensure orientation rooms, technology, and supplies are fully prepared
  • Assist with taking employee photos for ID badges and internal systems
  • Help ensure all required onboarding paperwork and employment forms are completed accurately and on time. Track onboarding documentation and follow up on missing items.
  • Complete reference checks for prospective candidates
  • Review and maintain internal Point Memo documents ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with current HR policies and practices
  • Cross-check memos against relevant procedures, templates, and any applicable labor laws or internal standards. Flag outdated or inconsistent memos for revision and track status updates.
  • Work closely with HR Business Partners and other internal stakeholders to validate and revise content as needed and help with Point Memo trainings.
  • Communicate professionally with candidates, new hires, and internal staff
  • Support general HR administrative projects and special assignments as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and candidate information
