About The Position

Maverick Gaming has an immediate opening for an experienced HR Generalist. This position provides support to the HR Manager for all functional areas of day-to-day operations, including recruiting, worker’s compensation, OSHA compliance, unemployment, leave of absence and general HR administration.

Requirements

  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in a Human Resources environment.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft programs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, reasoning and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Ability to acquire a gaming card.
  • Working knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency or ability to learn the HR/Talent Management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Track and file worker’s compensation with TPA.
  • Accurately maintain leave of absences and FMLA within Nevada.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Primary contact for unemployment, complete ESD forms, report separations and attend ESD hearings.
  • Recruits and processes the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Proficiency with the Paylocity Human Resources software and payroll system.
  • Aid in the creation and maintenance of Job Descriptions and Job Postings on Indeed.
  • Train end users on support systems and provide process/system functional user documentation.
  • Direct department managers on the HR/payroll process and procedures, timelines and employee paperwork guidelines and requirements based on policies and employment regulations.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to: disciplinary matters, investigations, performance & talent management, occupational health & safety and training & development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors, referring sensitive matters to the HR Manager.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies in order to maintain compliance standards.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources, talent management and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
