About The Position

The HR Generalist provides guidance and administrative support across multiple HR areas. Responsibilities shall include HR compliance and workers' compensation matters, claim administration, communication with employees and carriers, the return-to-work processes, maintaining employee records, supporting training and engagement initiatives, and assisting with workplace investigations and other HR-related projects. The position shall report to the HR Director and is full-time, exempt (FTE 1). The HR Generalist plays a key role in delivering consistent HR service, promoting compliance, and supporting staff and leadership across the organization while modeling Faison's TEAM values - Together, Excellence, Accountability, and Mission-driven.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of general HR work experience required.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license and meet Faison Center driving eligibility standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior HR or Workers' Compensation experience highly preferred; not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, Education, or related field preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Leads and develops the delivery of interactive safety trainings for staff, clearly communicating policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance understanding, compliance, and day-to-day safety awareness.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, licensure, and safety requirements.
  • Serves as the primary contact for workplace injuries and Workers' Compensation matters, including claim reporting and administration.
  • Conducts injury intake, incident investigations, and maintains required documentation in compliance with applicable regulations and insurer requirements.
  • Coordinates communication among employees, supervisors, medical providers, and insurance carriers regarding claim status, restrictions, and follow-up care.
  • Monitors work restrictions and coordinates light-duty assignments and return-to-work processes.
  • Maintains injury logs, prepares reports and trend analyses, and assists with identifying safety concerns and prevention initiatives.
  • Supports HR programs, including compensation, disciplinary procedures, investigations, performance management, employee relations, morale, and safety initiatives.
  • Attends and participates in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and internal investigations as requested.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and reviews HR policies and procedures to ensure alignment with legal requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of HR best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging HR technologies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
