About The Position

Under the general direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), the Human Resources Generalist provides comprehensive day-to-day human resources support to Imperial Valley Family Care Medical Group, A.P.C. (IVFCMG). The Human Resources Generalist serves as a trusted resource to employees and management by administering a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, HRIS administration, performance management, leaves of absence, and policy implementation. The Human Resources Generalist is expected to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, confidentiality, and integrity while supporting the mission, vision, and values of IV Family Care Medical Group. This position must possess a thorough understanding of California employment laws, healthcare HR practices, and the ability to build strong working relationships with employees and leaders throughout the organization.

Requirements

Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible Human Resources experience required.
Healthcare Human Resources experience strongly preferred.
Experience with California employment law, employee relations, recruitment, HR compliance, and HRIS systems required.
Experience supporting multiple clinic locations or healthcare operations preferred.
Strong knowledge of California and federal employment laws and regulations.
Knowledge of healthcare Human Resources practices and regulatory requirements.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
Ability to interpret and apply employment policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
Ability to build collaborative relationships with employees and leadership at all organizational levels.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Professional in Human Resources (PHR), SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or equivalent HR certification preferred.
Valid California driver's license with acceptable driving record may be required for travel between clinic locations.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day Human Resources support to all departments and clinic locations.
Partner with managers to address employee relations matters and provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, performance management, corrective action, and workplace concerns.
Coordinate all aspects of the recruitment and onboarding process, including job postings, candidate communication, pre-employment requirements, new hire orientation, and onboarding documentation.
Coordinate pre-employment activities, including background screenings, drug testing, physical examinations, credential verification, badge creation, and other onboarding requirements.
Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining Human Resources policies, procedures, and employee programs.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, including California labor laws and healthcare regulatory requirements.
Maintain employee records and Human Resources Information System (HRIS) data, ensuring accuracy for new hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, leaves of absence, and terminations.
Process employee status changes and maintain accurate personnel files in accordance with legal retention requirements.
Assist with administration of employee leaves of absence, including FMLA, CFRA, Pregnancy Disability Leave, workers' compensation coordination, and other protected leaves.
Support employee compensation processes, including wage changes, salary analyses, market surveys, and compensation documentation.
Coordinate and monitor introductory and annual performance evaluations and competency assessments.
Compile, analyze, and report HR metrics, including turnover, vacancies, recruitment activity, and workforce trends.
Conduct exit interviews, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improving employee retention and engagement.
Promote positive employee relations by responding promptly to employee questions and concerns while maintaining confidentiality.
Assist in planning, coordinating, and facilitating employee education, leadership development, and compliance training programs.
Participate in HR projects and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employee, organizational, and business information.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Human Resources Officer.
Attend departmental, management, and organizational meetings as assigned.
Serve as backup support for recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, payroll processing, and other HR functions as needed.
Represent the Human Resources Department on committees, employee meetings, and organizational initiatives.
Assist with organizational audits, accreditation surveys, and compliance reviews.
Support special Human Resources projects and organizational initiatives.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
