About The Position

Our client is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to be the hands-on HR partner for a multi-shift precision casting operation of about 900 non-union employees. This is a true generalist seat with real ownership. You’ll be the go-to person for employees and leaders on the floor, and you’ll get to build something: a new internal apprenticeship program that will shape the plant’s skilled-trades pipeline for years. Reporting to the Senior HR Manager, you’ll work across recruiting, employee relations, HRIS, compliance, and talent development. Leadership will rely on you as a trusted advisor on people decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
  • 3 to 5 years of Human Resources and/or recruiting experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with sound judgment in sensitive situations
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to juggle competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Authorization to work in the United States (visa sponsorship is not available)
  • This role involves access to export-controlled information, so offers depend on the candidate’s ability to lawfully obtain that access

Nice To Haves

  • HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing or plant environment
  • PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP/SCP certification, or a Master’s degree
  • Experience with Oracle or other HRIS platforms
  • Strong project management skills, ideally including building a program from scratch
  • Ability to connect credibly with everyone from the shop floor to senior leadership

  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees, addressing concerns and resolving conflicts fairly
  • Coach supervisors and managers on performance management and improvement plans
  • Advise leaders on people decisions, balancing legal, cultural, and business considerations
  • Help build and sustain a positive, engaged, and inclusive plant culture
  • Lead the external apprenticeship and internship programs
  • Design and launch a new internal apprenticeship program for Machinists, Mechanics/Electricians, Automation Technicians, and Engineering Technicians
  • Manage HRIS transactions, including new hires, promotions, and terminations
  • Support benefits administration, compliance, and broader HR initiatives
  • Champion the company’s safety culture, follow all EH&S requirements, and take part in safety training
