About The Position

Provides support for a wide variety of activities of human resources including employee relations, recruiting, ADP and licensing. The main responsibility of HR generalist is to advise managers, supervisors, or administrators in all HR practices, to provide information to employees about regulations, contract language, and policies, and to provide general support.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of corporate policy and Federal and Ohio Labor Laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with all levels inside and outside the organization in a reasonably tactful manner using discretion.
  • Computer proficiency, preferably in ADP, Report smith, Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
  • Energetic, outgoing, detail-oriented, highly organized and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Two years in Human Resources or related Labor Relations or administrative duties.
  • Must be able to stand/walk/ sit for extended periods.
  • Must be at least 21.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate licensing.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Public Relations, Business, Human Resources or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Processing employee corrective actions that are submitted to the HR office for approval.
  • Coordinating all labor issues with existing labor contracts, including associated grievance proceedings, incident investigations, disciplinary meetings, and terminations when necessary.
  • Assisting management on employee development and counseling issues.
  • Assisting in the coordination of the Unemployment Compensation program, which includes filing responses, participating in hearings and monitoring results.
  • Performing administrative tasks in support of the HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) group.
  • Suggesting policy and procedure to improve data collection efficiency and data integrity, and maintaining records to indicate trending of issues to support suggested policy and procedure.
  • Generating standard reports, or creating new reports when necessary, for Human Resources or managing personnel (including but not limited to SOX, Fidelity, EEO, average hours worked and headcount).
  • Onboarding all new hires, checking for completeness and accuracy, in the bi-weekly process of new hire orientation.
  • Constant contact with hiring managers for recruiting needs, including maintaining our HR Logics website (updating job postings, job descriptions, reports, screening applications, and reposition applicants based on best fit and company need), contact with local agencies based on available jobs, submitting and translating backgrounds, and preparation and conducting of orientations.
  • Attending Job fairs when needed.
  • Updating and maintaining organizational charts for company, including editing and creating job descriptions.
  • Assisting Benefit Specialist with FMLA, open enrollment, and information.
  • Managing the 401k plan, making entries, analysis and changes on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for the entry and data integrity of all status changes, liens and garnishments, taxes, direct deposits, union etc.
  • Contacting various agencies on a regular basis to insure the accuracy of all liens and garnishments.
  • Interpretations of various documents and laws.
  • Serving as a liaison for the EAP program.
  • All other duties as assigned.
