About The Position

The HR Generalist works under the direction of the HR Director, and is responsible for a wide variety of HR processes in an engaged culture focusing on continuous improvement. He / She will be the first point of contact for internal customers and paramount in ensuring we achieve our department vision.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources practices.
  • Demonstrated customer service mindset.
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-task, professional environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral formats.
  • Accurate and detail-oriented.
  • Knowledge and ability to use the following office equipment: computer, telephone, copier, fax and calculator.
  • Knowledge and ability to use the following software: Word, Excel, Power-point.
  • 4-year Degree in Business/Human Resources or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years of experience in a human resources field.
  • 5 years of experience in a human resources field.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all incoming phone calls and emails to the appropriate HR resource to ensure they are addressed in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Process and track employee termination paperwork electronically within HRIS.
  • Manage and maintain initial new hire evaluations, new employee feedback, and training plans.
  • Assist and coach employee / people managers on company policy as it relates to corrective action and track necessary warnings and documentation.
  • Manage the company uniform process.
  • Post approved requisitions for non-warehouse positions to job boards, intranet and career page – as appropriate; assign recruiting resources and track through closure.
  • Support the recruiting team on hourly and salary roles as needed.
  • Create, update and maintain company job descriptions, summaries and position titles.
  • Write, update, and audit company policies and department standard operating procedures.
  • Lead special projects to continuously improve department centered processes, compliance, and technology.
  • Conduct wage surveys and provide insight to company compensation strategy.
  • Initiate, track and assist new employees with electronic onboarding.
  • Perform other duties as appropriate and assigned.
