About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for the daily administrative functions of the Human Resource department including on-boarding team members, wellness events, benefits administration, workers compensation, leave requests, and provide support to the Human Resources team as needed. This position has a compensation rate of $40 per hour.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in Human Resources in an upscale/luxury hotel environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or related field preferred
  • Computer skills required and good applicable knowledge of HRIS such as ADP or Work Day preferred
  • Computer literacy to include but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to effectively deal with employees and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and to resolve conflicts
  • Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, in the English language
  • Ability to move around the hotel and liaise with all departments to maintain good team relations and understanding of departmental needs
  • Must be able to adhere to and promote Hotel service standards, Human Resources standards and policies, and applicable Hotel and Corporate standards and policies

Responsibilities

  • Handle Benefits administration including holding information sessions and enrollments
  • Process leave requests and workers compensation in accordance to local, city and federal law
  • Develop and implement employee relations programs, events, community service, etc
  • Promote and develop advertising for employee relations events such as upcoming events, health tips, community service activities and employee recognition program
  • Develop materials for and maintain employee communication and recognition boards
  • Maintain employee files and computer files
  • Handle employee requests and issues such as policy and procedure questions, benefits inquiries, etc
  • Assist with new employee orientation and on-boarding
  • Purchasing and managing of all HR operating supplies, employee relations items, as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Director of Human Resources
