About The Position

Physicians’ Primary Care is a full-service healthcare organization committed to delivering high-quality adult medicine and pediatrics primary care and related services in a patient-focused environment. The HR Generalist is a key member of the HR team, responsible for managing full-cycle HR functions from recruiting through onboarding, retention, compliance, and employee lifecycle support, with particular emphasis on the healthcare environment. This role supports recruiting (including job fairs and community outreach), onboarding, benefits & payroll administration, student/extern coordination, licensure/tracking, HRIS management, reporting, audits, and employee engagement in a fast-paced primary care setting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of HR, Payroll and Benefits experience.
  • Proficiency with HRIS/payroll systems (e.g., Paycor, ADP, Paychex), Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant employment laws and benefits regulations.
  • Experience with recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, performance reviews, payroll, and HRIS.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Proficiency in HR systems and technology.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and healthcare compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Source, screen, and pre-qualify applicants (pre-screening calls, reviewing resumes).
  • Conduct interviews (phone, video, in-person) and coordinate with hiring managers.
  • Attend job fairs and community recruiting events to promote Physicians’ Primary Care and attract talent.
  • Check references and complete pre-employment requirements: background checks, drug screens, OIG/GSA exclusion screenings.
  • Coordinate offer letters, employment agreements, and new hire paperwork.
  • Track and process PAFs relating to new hires, position changes and status changes.
  • Coordinate onboarding processes including completion of I-9s via E-Verify.
  • Prepare and facilitate new hire orientation sessions.
  • Conduct new hire follow-up at 30, 60, and 90 days to ensure integration and identify issues.
  • Build new Provider departments in HRIS Payroll system.
  • Manage PTO and leave programs including FMLA and ADA accommodations.
  • Track and maintain employee licensure, certifications, and immunizations.
  • Coordinate clinical student rotation externships and advanced provider preceptorships.
  • Launch and track performance review processes at 30/60/90 days and annually.
  • Process employee changes: position, location, wage, and status changes.
  • Conduct stay-surveys and exit interviews; analyze and report on trends.
  • Coordinate employee appreciation events and track birthdays and anniversaries.
  • Prepare required government reporting: EEO-1, Multiple Worksite Reports, unemployment and VOE requests.
  • Assist in HR audits, maintain HRIS integrity and document retention compliance.
  • Coordinate employee uniforms and related logistics.
  • Compile monthly activity reports to include open position and recruiting activity, employment statistics, turnover, trend, and birthday and anniversary reports.
  • Receive and process unemployment claims, reporting, responses and status updates.
  • Facilitate incident reporting and worker’s compensation claims and activities.
  • Prepare Ad Hoc reports as requested or needed to accomplish HR business objectives.
  • Assist with in-house biweekly payroll ensuring accuracy in inputs for new hires, terminations, and wage adjustments.
  • Explain and coordinate employee benefits programs, assist new hires and employees with enrollment, and liaise with benefit vendors.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other employment and healthcare regulations.
  • Proficiently use HRIS, recruiting/ATS, Job Boards, benefits platforms, Worker’s Compensation reporting, E-Verify, and MS Office programs.
  • Utilize Learning Management System.
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of employee data.
  • Provide direct support to the Director of Human Resources on projects and process improvements.
  • Maintain excellent organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ensure HIPAA and employment law compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
