About The Position

Reporting to the HR Business Partner, Lunenburg, the HR Generalist, Lunenburg Operations is responsible for the effective utilization and development of human resources programs and processes throughout the Operations and Supply Chain organization. The incumbent will report to and work closely with the HR Business Partner to support both salaried and hourly unionized employees in a fast-paced, high performance Supply Chain. This is a 14-month contract position.

Requirements

  • Post secondary education (University degree preferred)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably in a unionized environment, including labour relations, recruiting, and performance management
  • CPHR Designation preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite coupled with in-depth experience with HRIS systems (preferably UKG/UltiPro)
  • Innovative and Continuous Improvement mindset with a commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and production
  • Superior interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Ability to put our customer at the forefront of decision making

Responsibilities

  • Manage disability claims, attendance, and accommodation processes, partnering with EHS and HR to support safe and timely return-to-work outcomes.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, orientations, probation reviews, and internal job posting and bidding processes in line with the collective agreement.
  • Provide day-to-day HR guidance to employees and supervisors on performance, compliance, benefits, and collective agreement matters.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records for employee changes and validate time and attendance data for payroll processing.
  • Coordinate training, employee communications, recognition programs, social initiatives, and workplace events to support engagement.
  • Participate in disciplinary processes, including investigations, documentation, union meetings, and coaching for people leaders.
  • Assist with collective bargaining preparation, data analysis, and implementation of new or revised collective agreement provisions.
  • Promote a positive, values-aligned workplace culture while maintaining strict confidentiality of employee and labour relations information.
