About The Position

This role is responsible for coordinating the company's workers' compensation program, managing FMLA and other leaves of absence, and handling confidential employee information. The HR Generalist will also assist with benefits open enrollment, employee relations, recruitment efforts, and various administrative duties within the Human Resources department. A key aspect of this role involves investigating employee issues, identifying trends to improve retention, and supporting recruitment needs across different company locations. The position also requires a commitment to safety and GMP requirements, and active participation in the safety program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of personnel policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices is required.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and the public.
  • Excellent problem solving and judgment skills required.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively multi-task is essential.
  • Strong communication (oral and written) skills required.
  • Must present a professional, positive image always.
  • Ability to work off hours as business needs require.
  • Regularly required to use the telephone and computer.
  • Close vision abilities required.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Oral and written bi-lingual skills helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the company’s workers compensation program, including filing claims and following up on administrative requirements.
  • Provide guidance to employees and supervisors regarding FMLA & LOA, track all leaves of absences, and send required notices.
  • Handle confidential employee information and maintain the confidentiality of employee records.
  • Assist with the annual benefits open enrollment period.
  • Support employee relations by responding to policy inquiries, investigating problems, and providing guidance to employees and management.
  • Conduct exit interviews to determine reasons for separation and identify trends to increase employee retention.
  • Support recruitment efforts by assisting various NOW locations with recruitment needs and collaborating with the Recruiting Team.
  • Update and distribute job descriptions as necessary.
  • Identify and implement process improvements within Human Resources.
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties in all areas of Human Resources, including assembling and distributing information and administering employee surveys.
  • Assist with other Human Resource duties, special projects, and employee events.
  • Comply with safety and GMP requirements.
  • Support a culture of safe production and operations by following safety rules and procedures.
  • Actively participate in the safety program, including training, reporting concerns, and identifying hazards.
