About The Position

TASB is seeking a HR Data Analyst to join their fast-paced HR Services division. This role will support compensation consulting and salary surveys for Texas public schools and community colleges. The position is remote, but the candidate must reside in Texas if employed. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of Excel, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Programming skills are not required, but knowledge of Excel VBA or Power BI is preferred. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and 1-3 years of experience in data analysis are required. Some experience in public education is preferred.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge and skills using Excel.
  • Must be thorough, accurate, and precise in analyzing and reviewing data, strong attention to details.
  • Must be able to multi-task and stay organized between multiple projects at one time.
  • Strong communication skills through emails, phone calls, and Teams messaging/video calls with internal coworkers and external clients.
  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, business, social sciences, education, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience using spreadsheets and analyzing data is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Programming skills are not required but a strong understanding of excel VBA and/or knowledge of Power BI are preferred.
  • Some experience in public education is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide data analysis support to consultants on assigned projects.
  • Participate in the review of salary survey data for accuracy.
  • Communicate with districts about data clarifications and updates.
  • Complete independent compensation projects, including client communication, market comparisons, salary and pay plan recommendations, and written reports of findings.
  • Work with a team of other analysts.
  • Collect, clean, analyze, and interpret client salary data.
  • Use data analysis techniques to analyze, summarize, display, and explain data.
