About The Position

The Human Resources Assistant at Georgia World Congress Center provides advanced administrative and operation support to the Human Resources Team. In this role you will be responsible for supporting hourly recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, employee record keeping, and HR Administration processes. The HR Assistant serves as a key resource for employees and managers, assists with HR programs and initiatives, and helps maintain compliance with company policies, federal and state employment laws, and GWCC specific requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of Human Resources, administrative, payroll, or related experience.
  • Strong understanding of HR administrative processes and recordkeeping.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in hospitality, food service, entertainment, convention center, or large volume operations preferred.
  • Experience with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and onboarding platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support hourly recruitment efforts by pre-screening applicants, forwarding qualified applicants to hiring managers, and communicating with candidates.
  • Assist with the onboarding process, including collection of employment documents, completion of new hire paperwork, and orientation preparation. Coordinate orientation sessions and employee training programs.
  • Monitor pre-employment requirements, including background checks, employment verification, and work authorization documentation.
  • Support performance management and corrective action processes by preparing documentation and maintaining records.
  • Serve as initial point of contact for employee requests and questions.
  • Maintain personnel files and electronic records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits of employee documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with I-9 administration, E-Verify processing, and employment eligibility verification.
  • Assist with processing terminations.
  • File papers and documents into appropriate employee files. Prepares new employee files.
  • Participate in initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Maintain office supplies and support operational needs of the HR department.
  • Processes mail.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
