About The Position

The Banquet Captain at Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service during banquets, catering, and special events at GWCC. This role plays a key role in creating an outstanding guest experience by delivering professional, courteous, and efficient service while ensuring Levy event standards are consistently met. Banquet Captains will assist with the setup, service execution, and breakdown of assigned services.

Requirements

Previous banquet, catering, restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work flexible, event based schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Assist with the setup of banquet rooms, including tables, chairs, linens, place settings, buffet stations, and service stations.
Review banquet event orders (BEOs) and understand event requirements prior to service.
Ensure assigned stations are fully stocked and prepared before guests arrive.
Set up and maintain coffee stations, beverage stations, and buffet displays as directed.
Work collaboratively with Banquet Managers, Culinary, and fellow team members to ensure seamless event execution.
Follow all food handling and alcohol service procedures.
Assist with clearing banquet rooms and service areas following events.
Properly store equipment, linens, serving utensils, and supplies.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet storage areas and workspaces.
Ensure all equipment is returned and secured according to department procedures.
Maintain compliance with uniform, grooming, and appearance standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
