About The Position

AMERI-CANS is seeking an experienced and highly organized HR Coordinator to support our Ohio operations (Newark). This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for coordinating and supporting a broad range of human resources functions, with a particular emphasis on recruitment and talent acquisition. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who understands the full employee lifecycle, can effectively manage multiple priorities, and is comfortable working directly with employees, managers, and leadership. Strong recruiting knowledge and experience sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates are highly desired.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of professional HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment and talent acquisition processes.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates.
  • Working knowledge of general HR practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with employees and managers at all levels.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS platforms, applicant tracking systems, and other HR technology.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to work full-time, on-site in Ohio.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, construction, or similarly fast-paced work environment.
  • Experience recruiting for hourly, skilled-trade, technical, or high-volume positions.
  • Knowledge of Ohio employment practices and applicable federal employment requirements.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms (ADP).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the recruitment process from job posting through onboarding.
  • Develop and maintain candidate pipelines for current and anticipated staffing needs.
  • Source candidates through job boards, professional networks, social media, employee referrals, and other recruiting channels.
  • Review applications and resumes and conduct initial candidate screenings.
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Assist hiring managers with candidate selection and hiring decisions.
  • Conduct reference checks and support pre-employment processes as applicable.
  • Prepare and extend offers and coordinate the new-hire onboarding process.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting records and track candidate activity and hiring metrics.
  • Help develop strategies to attract qualified candidates for difficult-to-fill positions.
  • Attend local, regional, college, trade school, and industry job fairs and career events to promote the company and available employment opportunities.
  • Promote current open positions, career opportunities, company culture, benefits, and employment opportunities to job fair attendees
  • Coordinate registration, scheduling, materials, promotional items, and logistics for participation in job fairs and community recruiting events.
  • Assist with developing and distributing recruiting materials, flyers, signage, and other promotional content used to attract candidates.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files and HR records.
  • Assist with new-hire onboarding, orientation, and required employment documentation.
  • Process employee status changes, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
  • Assist employees and managers with routine HR questions and requests.
  • Maintain HRIS records and ensure that employee information is accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare HR reports, correspondence, and other documentation as needed.
  • Assist with employment verification and other routine HR administrative activities.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees regarding general HR policies, procedures, and workplace questions.
  • Support management with employee relations matters and help ensure consistent application of company policies.
  • Assist with investigations, documentation, and follow-up on employee concerns as directed.
  • Promote a positive, professional, and respectful workplace environment.
  • Help communicate company policies, procedures, and HR-related updates to employees.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with applicable federal and Ohio employment laws and regulations.
  • Support required employment documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Assist with benefits administration, employee enrollments, changes, and general benefits questions.
  • Help coordinate required training, certifications, and employee development activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information.
