About The Position

Hale Trailer Brake & Wheel Inc. is seeking an HR Controller based out of Little Rock, AR. The individual in the role will manage all financial and human resources operations. Responsibilities include financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance while also managing HR functions such as recruitment, employee relations, and benefits administration. This unique role ensures that an organization's financial goals align with its human capital strategies. They play a critical part in maintaining regulatory compliance and supporting company growth through effective personnel management.

Requirements

  • A degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Controller or in a similar accounting role in a manufacturing environment, ideally in vehicle or machinery production.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in MS-Office and HR/accounting software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in sensitive situations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Uncompromising attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Must pass a standard pre-employment drug test; if required.

  • CPA/MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable, including processing purchase orders, verifying invoices and issuing payments to vendors
  • Manage accounts receivable, including issuing invoices and follow-up payment terms
  • Provide all information to our CPA to ensure timely completion of quarterly-end close processes
  • Manage state and local taxation matters, incl. FET
  • Oversee corporate accounting functions, ensuring adherence to GAAP standards.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, providing variance analysis and recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel files, ensuring compliance with all state and federal record-keeping requirements.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, workers' compensation, and leave entitlements (FMLA, sick leave, etc.). Act as a liaison between employees and benefit providers.
