About The Position

Weyerhaeuser Company is searching for an experienced Human Resource Business Partner to support a unionized manufacturing site located in Plymouth, NC. This position will report to the Senior HR Business Manager, Mid-South, with a strong dotted line to the Plymouth Mill Manager. The HRBP will provide onsite human resource support to the Mill. In this role, the HRBP will be tasked with building relationships with employees at all levels of the organization and managing a variety of moderately complex HR tasks, both specific to the Mill and companywide initiatives. The HRBP will be consulted on a variety of topics ranging from compensation reviews to work system design to employee relations, and everything in between. Additionally, they will be a strategic partner to Mill leaders and sit on the Mill Leadership team.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of HR-related experience, preferably within manufacturing.
  • Bachelor’s and / or Master's degree a plus
  • Union experience preferred
  • Talent Management experience.
  • SPHR, PHR, etc. certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create a fair and positive work environment and ensure open communication among associates and leaders.
  • Advise leaders on moderately complex strategic, operational, and business goals, and incorporate relevant HR tools to facilitate solutions while considering Weyerhaeuser needs beyond the Mill.
  • Manage moderately complex projects for the Mill.
  • Facilitate workforce planning and talent management processes for the Mill.
  • Serve as key liaison for the union, and oversee implementation of collective bargaining agreement.
  • Manage and advise on HR activities and employee relations.
  • Manage education, training, and continuous development of skills for leaders and associates.
  • Manage compensation and wage analysis to ensure the facility is competitive and able to retain critical skills.
  • Ensure state and federal compliance requirements are met.
  • Prepare and analyze reports for quarterly and annual reporting (workforce representation, turnover, headcount reports, etc.).
  • Proactively identify what needs to change and take the initiative to change it.
  • Exercise excellent judgment, and successfully influence Mill leaders.
  • Build effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Responsible for salaried and hourly staffing functions (including sourcing, recruiting, retention and onboarding process).
