The HR Business Partner will understand the business and the teams they support, making proactive recommendations on talent-related issues and initiatives. They will coach leaders on best practices for employee engagement, communication, and performance management, and provide consultative support on HR policies and practices. This role collaborates with management to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. The HR Business Partner ensures compliance with HR policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreements, laws, standards, and government regulations, while maintaining relationships with union leadership. They will proactively manage and resolve employee and labor relations issues, conduct workplace investigations, and initiate corrective actions. Responsibilities also include coordinating unemployment claims, representing the company at hearings, ensuring accurate reporting of workplace accidents and incidents, assisting supervisors with investigations, and managing the on-the-job accident process, including return to work. The role also involves working with management to ensure OSHA compliance, supporting training initiatives, assisting with new hire orientation, and managing the off-boarding process, including analyzing data and making recommendations for improvement.
