About The Position

We are seeking an HR Business Partner to provide strategic guidance, advice, coaching, counsel and problem-solving to clinical operation teams across Duke Health Ambulatory. The HR Business Partner acts as a central figure to provide human resources solutions for specified service lines within the Duke Health Ambulatory platform. This position is responsible for building and maintaining effective working relationships across client groups as well as within Human Resources and Administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
  • Work requires three years of strategic partnership experience in Human Resources, or a combination of education and experience sufficient to meet the requirements of the role.
  • Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Knowledge of HR technologies, trends, and best practices.
  • Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Effective working independently and in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to build strong relationships and credibility.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR, SPHR or SHRM-CP, SHRM SCP Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a core understanding of the vision, strategic direction, and business objectives of Duke Health Ambulatory to ensure effective HR alignment and support.
  • Conduct regular meetings with respective client groups to keep them informed of HR initiatives, processes, policies, and resources.
  • Provide advice and counsel to leaders and employees regarding policy interpretation, performance management, disciplinary action, compensation, leaves of absence, employee relations, and other HR-related matters.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Duke Staff and Labor Relations, Compliance, and other centers of expertise (e.g., recruitment, compensation, payroll, benefits, training and development) to facilitate efficient and effective support for the organization.
  • Analyze data, trends, and metrics to inform business decisions and identify strategic solutions.
  • Work closely with service line leaders to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Escalate organizational issues or challenges; prepare reports, analyses and other written communication as necessary or requested.
  • Participate in the implementation of systemwide HR projects and strategic initiatives.
  • Perform other duties incidental to the work described herein.
