About The Position

We are looking for an HR Business Partner to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location. This role implements CW policies and coordinates human resources activities such as recruiting, employee communications, compensation, employee relations, training and development. The HR Business Partner will be responsible for managing workplace relationships between employees, management, and one of our unions on site.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
  • Labor Relations experience required.
  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of progressive growth as an HR Generalist.
  • Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Workday experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree a plus.
  • PHR or SPHR certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Implements CW policies and coordinates human resources activities such as recruiting, employee communications, compensation, employee relations, training and development.
  • Manages workplace relationships between employees, management, and one of our unions on site.
  • Works closely with senior management business partners to facilitate effective decision-making and drive organizational success.
  • Provides support to employees on various HR related topics such as leaves of absence, compensation problem resolution, HRIS Systems access, and any other employee relations concerns.
  • Provides guidance and counsel to management and employees on labor relations issues and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Communicates with both union leaders and company management regarding labor issues, assists in negotiation of labor contracts, and ensures that the organization is following relevant labor laws and regulations.
  • Assists in communication of strategies and/or messages from senior management.
  • Manages internal communications such as policy changes, organizational announcements, or employee event notices.
  • Processes changes in employee status in a timely manner for data entry into our Workday HRIS system and other business systems.
  • Conducts investigations of alleged discrimination, employee relation issues, and ethics as needed; recommends and implements appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Provides practical, consistent, and proactive support and guidance to management on HR issues and works together to identify practical solutions.
  • Continues building relationships with universities, technical schools, and other educational institutions to grow robust employee pipeline programs.
  • Acts as liaison between management and the Talent Acquisition team to develop interview questions, interviewing process, selection of candidate and developing an offer.
  • Coordinates with management for training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, and performance reviews.
  • Acts as primary contact for all employee related inquiries and responds in a prompt, professional manner.
