The HR Business Partner role is crucial for building the necessary infrastructure and support systems for Base's rapidly expanding teams. This role will primarily support the Engineering and Support organizations, collaborating with managers and employees to ensure people operations are smooth, fair, and scalable as Base grows.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology or a related field
  • 2-4 years of progressive HR experience in a fast-growing organization
  • Experience navigating HRIS systems, utilizing compensation platforms like AON Radford, and leveraging AI tools to streamline workflows
  • Knowledge of basic employment laws
  • Strong instincts around confidentiality, discretion and when to escalate
  • Comfortable working directly with leaders and pushing back when needed
  • Ability to adjust communication style based on the audience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience navigating HRIS systems (Rippling preferred)
  • Knowledge of basic employment laws - multi-state experience is a plus
  • Experience supporting technical or operations teams is a bonus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day HR resource for leaders and employees in assigned departments - fielding questions, proactively flagging issues, and helping people navigate HR processes
  • Partner with leaders on employee relation matters, performance management conversations, and engagement efforts
  • Support the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, performance cycles, leave requests, employee relation issues, accommodations, and offboarding
  • Advise leaders on how to understand and apply HR best practices consistently and confidently
  • Identify any area trends to proactively address them alongside leadership before escalation occurs
  • Collaborate with the Talent team to maintain high talent bar while providing guidance on Total Rewards, as needed
  • Actively contribute to building out HR programs, processes and documentation as the function grows
  • Support compliance efforts including policy updates, training rollouts, and recordkeeping
  • Assist with people data and reporting - headcount, attrition, leave tracking - and help improve how we capture and continuously improve those metrics
