About The Position

We are looking for an HR Business Partner - Mission Operations to serve as the primary HR partner for these teams across distributed locations. The bulk of this role is core HRBP work: employee relations, performance management, compliance, recruiting support, and career development. You will also support operational coordination for field deployments, safety compliance, and process documentation where having operational context adds value. Strong HRBP fundamentals and the ability to build trusted relationships with remote teams are the most important qualities for this role.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years of HR Business Partner experience in a professional or operational setting.
  • Strong understanding of HR compliance, employment law, and HR best practices; demonstrated ability to build trust and maintain relationships with remote or distributed teams.
  • Strong employee relations, coaching, and communication skills; experience across recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and compensation.
  • Ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities simultaneously; strong process orientation and ability to document processes clearly; BA/BS in HR or related field, PHR/SPHR certification, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in government contracting, defense, or military environments.
  • Experience with travel support, employee logistics, or operations coordination for distributed or field-based teams.
  • Safety or occupational health knowledge; experience in field operations or mission-critical environments.
  • International assignment or expatriate employee experience; SHRM membership or HR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusted relationships with Mission Operations and Field Operations teams across distributed locations; serve as primary HR advisor for employee questions, concerns, career discussions, and sensitive matters; conduct regular check-ins and relationship-building with remote team members.
  • Handle employee relations including coaching, conflict resolution, performance management, and retention; support onboarding of new team members; manage compliance with company policies, employment law, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with recruiting on staffing plans, position descriptions, interview processes, and offer negotiations; coach managers on performance conversations, feedback, and team development; support career development and succession planning for field roles.
  • Coordinate HR logistics for field deployments; support development of deployment agreements and travel policies; partner on safety incident reporting and post-incident HR follow-up; help translate compliance requirements into HR processes and documentation.
  • Design HR processes tailored to field operations; create checklists, playbooks, and training materials for field managers; partner cross-functionally with Operations, Contracts, and Finance on people strategies, compliance requirements, and deployment planning.
