About The Position

We are proud to partner with a leading probiotic and dietary supplement manufacturer to identify this HR professional who will support operational excellence, compliance, and an exceptional employee experience. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Benefits Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee benefits and leave of absence programs. This position plays a key role in ensuring benefit enrollments, changes, compliance tasks, and employee inquiries are handled accurately and in a timely manner. This is an administrative-level role focused on supporting employees, maintaining data integrity, and coordinating with vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth operations. The position requires strong attention to detail, solid organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in benefits administration , including health & welfare, COBRA, and leave management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state regulations related to employee benefits.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (ADP preferred) and strong Excel/data reporting skills.
  • High attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of group benefits and applicable laws (COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, CFRA, ACA)

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as CEBS, PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP.
  • Background in manufacturing or multi-site environments.

Responsibilities

  • Process employee enrollments, changes, and terminations across all benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401k, FSA/HSA, COBRA, etc.).
  • Coordinate with benefits broker(s) and vendors to troubleshoot and resolve employee issues.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data entry in HRIS (ADP) and benefit platforms.
  • Track and process leave of absence paperwork and related benefits coverage, in compliance with FMLA/CFRA and company policy, in collaboration with site HR Partners
  • Maintain up-to-date employee benefits files and documentation.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit questions and provide clear guidance on available options.
  • Support onboarding by reviewing benefit offerings with new hires and assisting with enrollment.
  • Assist with benefit-related communications during open enrollment, wellness events, and company-wide updates.
  • Reconcile monthly benefits invoices and coordinate with payroll and accounting for timely payment.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure benefits deductions and enrollments match carrier data.
  • Coordinate file transmissions and troubleshoot discrepancies with vendors and carriers.
  • Support the administration of COBRA in partnership with third-party vendors.
  • Assist with compliance filings and reporting (e.g., ACA, 5500) as directed.
  • Maintain records in accordance with internal policies and applicable regulations.
  • Work with HR Business Partners and the Payroll team to ensure data accuracy and timely processing.
  • Liaise with benefits broker, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators to resolve employee and system issues.
  • Partner with accounting on invoice reconciliation and deduction tracking.
  • Provide support to employees and managers related to time off entries, missed punches, and leave tracking.
  • Partner with site HR Business Partners as a strategic partner.
