About The Position

Reporting to the AVP, Human Resources, the HR Automation & AI Analyst plays a critical role in advancing modern, technology-enabled HR service delivery. This position drives automation- and AI-powered solutions that improve efficiency, enhance data quality, and elevate the employee, leader, and advisor experience at Wellington‑Altus. Working closely with the HR team and cross-functional partners, the Analyst explores, designs, and implements smart technologies that streamline HR processes, reduce manual effort, and enable scalable service delivery. The role supports clean, reliable HR data and develops dashboards and analytics that surface meaningful insights to inform decision-making. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of HR through applied AI, automation, and data analytics, while contributing to real-world initiatives that influence executive decisions and support organizational strategy. You will bridge the gap between HR policies, systems, and processes and seamless employee and leader self-service. By leveraging automation, designing zero-touch workflows, and building robust knowledge ecosystems, you will transform manual HR activities into scalable, sustainable solutions. This role does not simply launch HR programs, it engineers how they are delivered, enabling the HR function to support long-term organizational growth without proportional increases in headcount.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Business, HR, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI or other data visualization tools; ability to interpret dashboards and contribute to reporting.
  • Familiarity with DAX or interest in learning how to build and modify measures for HR analytics.
  • Experience with Power Automate or aptitude for analyzing processes and identifying opportunities to automate manual or inefficient workflows.
  • Strong interest in AI tools and prompt engineering.
  • An ability to craft effective prompts for Microsoft Copilot to deliver accurate and actionable outputs.
  • 1-2+ years’ experience in a customer/client-service facing role.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, user‑friendly guides and self‑service content.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Comfortable working with HR systems, data sources, and basic integrations to support reporting and process improvement.
  • Comfortable working with data and metrics to support operational improvements and prioritization.
  • Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Curious, proactive, and eager to learn, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills, including the ability to explain technical ideas in plain language.
  • Service‑oriented, with a focus on delivering positive employee and leader experiences.
  • Able to work effectively across HR, IT, vendors, and business partners to support change initiatives.
  • Adaptable and resilient, with comfort navigating ambiguity and evolving priorities.
  • An ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • A background check, satisfactory to the employer, may be required of the successful applicant prior to commencing employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the wealth management or other regulated industry is a strong asset but not required.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in HR or related field is an asset.
  • Foundational exposure to SQL, Python, VBA, or similar languages is an asset.
  • Exposure to HR systems, ticketing tools, or knowledge platforms is an asset.
  • Bilingual in French and English, both oral and written is considered a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in building dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI.
  • Support the use of AI solutions and create automated workflows (ie. Power Automate) to reduce manual tasks and streamline HR processes.
  • Experiment with Microsoft Copilot and automation tools to improve reporting, workflows, and insights.
  • Identify common HR questions and process pain points and help design automated workflows that improve employee self‑service.
  • Help create, organize, and maintain clear HR knowledge content including FAQs and guides.
  • Analyze HR service data (request volumes, response times, knowledge usage) to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Work closely with HR, IT, and other partners to support technology-enabled HR initiatives.
  • Support adoption of new tools and processes across the HR team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects and provide general HR project support as needed.
