About The Position

Under minimal supervision, serves as a customer liaison in the human resources department between recruiters and newly hired employees, assisting with pre-employment through the employee health steps of the process. Performs a variety of clerical and reception duties in support of professional and other staff in human resources which include record maintenance, retrieval and dissemination of information, typing, word processing, and report preparation, and to do other work as required.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year advanced clerical experience preferably in a high volume customer service-oriented environment.
  • Knowledge of Human Resource policies and procedures, quality assurance program and safety standards.
  • Knowledge of principles of effective customer service.
  • Knowledge of laws, ordinances, rules, regulations, and procedures governing the Human Resources Department and personnel activities of operating departments.
  • Knowledge of basic personnel records and documentation.
  • Knowledge of occupational titles and concepts.
  • Knowledge of job duties performed and job-related standards for employment.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures including filing and operating standard office equipment.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards pertaining to the Management of Human Resources.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; HRIS.
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work.
  • Ability to convey a positive and professional image to applicants, employees and visitors.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to perform general clerical work and learn quickly the specific operations of a human resources department.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and fellow employees.
  • Ability to evaluate education, experience, and other qualifications and determine their applicability to established requirements.
  • Ability to read, understand, apply and explain regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work effectively with applicants, co-workers, and other hospital departments.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to perform basic statistical computations.
