About The Position

We are seeking an HR Assistant / Recruiter to join our team at our Cookeville, Tennessee facility (TMF). This position will start at our McMinnville, TN facility and then move to Cookeville. In this hands-on role, you'll drive full-cycle recruiting for both hourly and salaried positions — from sourcing and screening to offer and onboarding — while supporting day-to-day HR operations. You'll be the go-to resource for hiring managers and new employees alike, keeping our talent pipeline moving and our HR processes running smoothly. Requirements

  • Associate’s (Bachelor’s degree preferred) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
  • 1–3 years of experience in high volume recruiting, HR administration, or talent acquisition
  • Experience in manufacturing or high-volume hiring environments strongly preferred
  • Experience with HRIS, ATS, and payroll systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data tracking, reporting, formatting)
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities
  • Clear, professional communication with a strong customer service focus
  • Proven ability to manage multiple requisitions concurrently
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • High level of attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset with a strong sense of urgency

Responsibilities

  • Execute full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positions (e.g., welders, fabricators, machine operators, supervisors)
  • Source candidates using job boards, approved staffing agencies, referrals, and community partnerships
  • Help create and update job descriptions and ensure compensation aligns with internal equity and current market data
  • Screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and coordinate onsite interviews with hiring managers
  • Manage high-volume hiring pipelines while maintaining candidate quality standards
  • Maintain applicant tracking systems (ATS) and ensure accurate candidate documentation
  • Support and adhere to all Talent Acquisition SOP’s outlined by Corporate HR
  • Coordinate and attend hiring events, job fairs, and workforce development initiatives
  • Establish and maintain world class levels of service for hiring teams.
  • Ensure all hiring practices comply with EEOC and federal/state employment laws
  • Coordinate new hire orientation logistics and documentation
  • Prepare offer letters, onboarding packets, and pre-employment requirements
  • Facilitate background checks, drug screenings, and employment verification
  • Ensure timely system entry (HRIS/payroll) and badge/access setup
  • Partner with supervisors to ensure smooth onboarding and training alignment
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with documentation standards
  • Assist with benefits enrollment, employee inquiries, and HR communications
  • Support payroll processing by verifying new hire and status change information
  • Track attendance, turnover metrics, and recruitment KPIs
  • Assist in audits, compliance reporting, and internal investigations as needed
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns
  • Escalate complex issues to HR leadership as appropriate
  • Support disciplinary documentation and performance management processes
