About The Position

Kinperium-Hiniker LLC (Hiniker) is a Minnesota based manufacturer with roots in the agricultural equipment industry since 1970 and expanding into snow removal equipment in 1995. In 2024, they acquired Daniels Plows. They are currently seeking an onsite HR and Safety Generalist with experience in manufacturing environments, located in Mankato, MN. This role will support daily human resources operations including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations. The Generalist will ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, assist with workers’ compensation, and conduct safety training. Additionally, the role will support payroll, benefits, leave administration, policy enforcement, and employee engagement activities.

  • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of one (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 1- 2 years Human Resources experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
  • Lead recruiting efforts including placing job ads, tracking, prescreening, coordinating interviews, site tours, pre-employment contingencies, offers, and feedback.
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants, collaborating with departmental managers to understand required skills.
  • Conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Track and report recruitment efforts to executive staff and hiring supervisors.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, jobsite evaluations, and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to OSHA standards and company policies.
  • Lead company safety committee meetings and promote safety awareness.
  • Maintain electronic filing of employment records and scan into HRIS system.
  • Update and record training and other employment records.
  • Assist with the HR payroll function by completing weekly timesheet reviews and resolving timecard issues.
  • Inform and escalate HR matters requiring intervention or action to appropriate staff.
  • Coordinate the company’s employee engagement activities.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory HR and Safety training.
  • Implement and conduct new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and review policies and practices to ensure compliance.
