About The Position

The HR Administrator is responsible for the execution and administration of core People Operations processes, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of payroll, onboarding, offboarding, and employee data management in a multi-state respiratory home care environment. This role serves as a key operational partner within the People team, supporting employees and leaders by maintaining high-quality HR systems, processes, and employee records. The HR Administrator plays a critical role in ensuring data integrity, supporting compliance, and delivering a seamless employee experience across the full employee lifecycle. This is a hybrid position requiring 2–3 in-office days per week at our Elmhurst office.

Requirements

  • 2–5+ years of HR operations, HR administration, payroll, or related experience
  • Experience processing payroll and supporting multi-state HR operations preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of HRIS platforms, payroll systems, and employee data management
  • Knowledge of federal and state employment laws related to payroll, leave administration, and employee records
  • Experience managing onboarding processes, including I-9 compliance and background checks
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion
  • Experience supporting healthcare, home care, or multi-site environments preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or payroll certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administer and process multi-state payroll in partnership with Finance and external providers, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy across HR systems.
  • Support audits and reporting related to payroll, employee data, and compliance.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, data accuracy, compliance, and employee experience across HR operations.
  • Manage end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless and compliant employee experience.
  • Coordinate new hire setup, onboarding documentation, system access, equipment requests, and orientation processes.
  • Manage pre-employment and onboarding requirements, including background checks, I-9 compliance, employment verification, and new hire documentation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of employee status changes, terminations, and related documentation.
  • Maintain and update HRIS, including employee data changes, system configurations, and workflows.
  • Ensure data integrity across systems and troubleshoot discrepancies.
  • Generate and maintain standard HR reports and dashboards (headcount, turnover, payroll, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws related to payroll, benefits, and employee records.
  • Maintain employee documentation and support audits as needed.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide timely, accurate support across HR-related topics.
