About The Position

The HPWT Custodial Worker II is responsible for setting up and delivering various items for events, assembling and moving furniture, and installing restroom supplies. This role also involves cleaning and maintaining various areas within the university, including halls, offices, classrooms, restrooms, and gym areas, using specific cleaning techniques. The position requires adherence to standard operating procedures and completion of mandatory training. The schedule is typically Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, but may vary due to customer or departmental needs, with potential for overtime. This role is designated as Essential Personnel.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience; or completion of the ninth grade and three years of experience.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma and two (2) years of commercial custodial experience.
  • Knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques and standards.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance on equipment and machines.
  • Ability to work in elevated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers and sets up stages, tables, chairs, podiums, materials, and equipment for ceremonies and special events.
  • Assembles and disassembles furniture as needed.
  • Moves and transports furniture for departments and academic units.
  • Delivers and installs restroom and hand sanitizing dispensers.
  • Assists with cleaning and maintaining zones, including sweeping, dusting, mopping, and washing walls, doors, and partitions in halls, offices, classrooms, restrooms, conference rooms, labs, gyms, locker rooms, and elevators.
  • Cleans entrances, entrance walks, steps, patios, and concourses.
  • Empties and cleans waste cans, trash cans, recycle bins, water fountains, and doormats.
  • Assists with other assigned or required tasks.
  • Completes training prescribed by the Facilities Services Training and Education Department and University's Compliance Training.
  • Follows and adheres to all Building Services Standard Operating Procedures and Facilities Services Policies and Directives.
