About The Position

Cleans and maintains on a daily basis all halls, offices, shops, classrooms, restrooms, conference rooms, labs, gym areas, locker rooms, elevators which includes sweeping, dusting, dust-mopping, wet-mopping, spot-mopping, reconditioning of floors and spot washing and cleaning of walls, doors, and partitions. Performs minor repair work on furniture, fixtures, floors, plumbing, etc. Assists skilled trades employees by performing tasks including, but not limited to, preparation of job site, changing belts, filters, lights, and ceiling tiles. Completes light plumbing work to include, but not limited to, opening clogged drains, repairing leaky fixtures, as well as cleanup of water leaks and spills. Cleans and maintains all floors and floor coverings which includes regular duties such as vacuuming, shampooing, stripping, sealing and waxing. Cleans all entrances, entrances walks, steps and concourses. Spot cleans and cleans all exterior and interior glass surfaces of all assigned buildings; cleans ceiling lights and blinds. Empties and cleans all waste cans, trashcans, recycle bins, water fountains and doormats. Assists Maintenance Staff in painting, replacement, remodeling, construction projects, and other tasks as assigned by the Maintenance Mechanic.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience; or completion of the ninth grade and three years of experience.
  • Physical Assessment and Class E Driver’s License is required.
  • Health Assessment Required: Yes

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma and two (2) years of commercial custodial experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and abilities.
