The technician performs and documents hazard surveys; collects and records monitoring data; applies technical activities in support of Health Physics and Industrial Hygiene programs; and converts survey readings into meaningful units using mathematics and tools such as spreadsheets. The technician recognizes and responds appropriately when conditions fall outside defined safety limits. The position may require shift work and/or extended hours. Candidates must pass a required math/science assessment, core exams, and on-the-job training. The successful candidate must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Q-level security clearance. Pre-employment background and drug testing are required, and employees participate in random drug testing.
