The Housing Problem Solving Specialist works directly with families experiencing a housing crisis. This includes assessing families’ needs and resources, explaining how the homeless response system works, exploring available housing and shelter options, and providing resources and referrals. The role is part-time, 20 hours per week, and is fully on-site at 37 Grove St, San Francisco. The specialist will offer problem-solving support using trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches, assess eligibility for the Homelessness Response System, provide referrals for basic needs, maintain up-to-date information in databases, support families matched with housing opportunities, assess and de-escalate volatile situations, and advocate for clients in their housing search. Participation in community events and outreach efforts is also expected.
