About The Position

Help Veterans Find More Than Housing—Help Them Find Home Every Veteran deserves a safe, stable place to call home. As the Transition in Place (TIP) Housing Navigator, you will turn that belief into action by building relationships, opening doors, and connecting Veterans experiencing homelessness with quality housing and supportive services. This is an opportunity to make a visible and lasting difference. You will work directly with landlords, property managers, shelters, community organizations, and Veterans to identify safe housing opportunities, expand referral networks, and create pathways from homelessness to long-term stability. Your work will not simply help Veterans secure apartments—it will help them regain independence, dignity, and hope.

  • Clear, concise, and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Strong community outreach, public relations, and partnership-development skills.
  • Ability to connect respectfully with individuals from diverse cultural and personal backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Maintain an up-to-date database of available housing and community resources, cultivate at least 25 active landlord and property management relationships, and secure a minimum of five new housing partnerships each year.
  • Ensure Every Veteran Has a Safe Place to Live: Inspect units and surrounding property to ensure they meet all Department of Veterans Affairs, HUD, Life Safety Code, and TIP program standards. Ensure community partners understand how to connect eligible Veterans with the TIP program through presentations, workshops, and referral training.
  • Support Long-Term Housing Stability: Continue involvement after a Veteran is housed by working collaboratively with program staff, landlords, and community partners to identify concerns, support successful tenancies, and help Veterans remain safely housed. Document quarterly follow-up for every housed Veteran, and complete all required data entry, reporting, and program documentation accurately and on time.
