About The Position
The Housing Monitor accepts and processes residents staying overnight in the shelter. During an assigned shift, the monitor oversees resident activity to ensure safety, security, and compliance with house rules; maintains accurate and complete records and logs containing pertinent information; and keeps the shelter neat and in proper order. The position is full-time regular, based in Florence, Alabama, with days and hours that vary. The schedule is listed as 40 hours per week, Monday through Sunday, 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- One year of experience performing security work or working in a social service environment, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to respond quickly and calmly to emergencies, maintain control, and initiate appropriate corrective action.
