The Housing Counselor will provide HUD compliant pre-purchase, post-purchase, and foreclosure prevention counseling to clients in person and through alternative formats. This role is responsible for money management and asset development, as well as scheduling, coordinating, and facilitating HUD certified First Time Homebuyer Education classes and Rent Strong tenant classes. The counselor will develop and maintain relevant curriculum and training materials, build relationships with community and business partners, and recruit and manage volunteers. Data management, including accurate and timely input of client information, maintaining secure files, and generating reports, is a key responsibility. The role also involves evaluating program effectiveness through surveys, creating client action plans, and managing purchase authorizations. Representing The Home Center and HRDC7 professionally at various events and contributing to the overall mission of the programs in a team environment are also essential.
