About The Position
The Houseworker performs standard cleaning procedures throughout hospital areas and buildings to maintain a clean and healthy environment. The role also involves moving furniture and setting up meeting rooms as needed. This is a 40-hour-per-week position scheduled for the day shift, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with every other weekend and every other holiday scheduled.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be able to read, write, and follow simple English instructions.

- 3–6 months of experience as a houseworker.
Responsibilities
- Clean hospital and building areas, including patient rooms, surgery areas, units, nurseries, nursing stations, auxiliary areas, lounges, isolation areas, emergency room lavatories, bathrooms, stairways, offices, corridors, and apartments.
- Perform high dusting and spot-clean walls, windows, and doors; disinfect horizontal surfaces; mop floors; vacuum carpets; empty trash; and clean and polish metal and porcelain bathroom and shower fixtures.
- Burnish floors using burnishers and clean floors using automatic floor machines.
- Perform discharge and transfer-unit checkout cleaning, including making beds.
- Collect trash and transport it from utility rooms and other collection points to the compactor pickup area.
- Move furniture and set up meeting rooms as necessary.
