About The Position

The Houseperson is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all public areas of the hotel. They respond to guest requests in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and support the Housekeeping team. Additional tasks include but are not limited to: Remove trash from work areas to the loading dock/dumpster and remove trash and linen from housekeeping closets. Report any linen shortages or other discrepancies to the appropriate manager or supervisor. Maintain each storage and distribution area in a clean and organized condition. Deliver miscellaneous goods and supplies to guest rooms, storage areas, and Room Attendants. Deliver supplies to guest floors. Set up and deliver rollaway beds and baby cribs. Maintain guest corridors cleanliness: Sweep and wash floors, vacuum carpet, wash walls, dust furniture and fixtures, clean ashtrays, elevators and tracks. Move furniture, supplies, and equipment. Perform special cleaning projects using cleaning equipment. Clean designated areas including, but not limited to, restrooms, public areas, hallways, stairwells, elevators, offices and banquet/meeting/conference rooms. Perform a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, shampooing carpets, washing windows, emptying carts of soiled linens, cleaning/waxing floors, removing and disposing of trash, insects and debris and emptying ashtrays. Greet guests in a friendly manner. Perform deep cleaning tasks and special projects (for example: mattress flipping, furniture moves, etc.), as needed. Assist in delivering guest requests and in cleaning guest rooms, as needed. Assist other team members in housekeeping, as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write and speak sufficient to understand and communicate with employees and guests.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push a 250 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work for long periods of time.
  • Ability to stoop, squat, bend, and twist frequently throughout shift.
  • Must have availability on weekends and holidays.
