About The Position

As a Houseperson, you’ll play an essential role in supporting our Room Attendants and maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and service expected in a luxury hotel. You’ll ensure that linens, supplies, and guest-requested items are delivered promptly and that assigned floors and public areas are clean, organized, and well maintained.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds and push or pull items weighing up to 300 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, standing, walking, and moving throughout the hotel.
  • Solid understanding of reading, writing, and basic mathematics.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Warm, welcoming, and approachable communicator who takes pride in providing thoughtful, professional service to our guests and colleagues.
  • Understand that in a luxury hotel, the smallest details matter.
  • Take pride in maintaining a clean, comfortable environment and creating a positive experience for every guest.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Room Attendants with heavy items, including mattresses, linens, and housekeeping supplies.
  • Deliver fresh linens, towels, and other supplies to Room Attendant carts, closets, and assigned areas throughout the day.
  • Collect soiled linens from Room Attendant carts, closets, and assigned areas and transport them to the laundry.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of floor closets and vending areas, including removing trash, wiping shelves and counters, sweeping, and waxing floors.
  • Keep floor closets organized by removing and properly storing items that do not belong in these areas.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, including the delivery and retrieval of linens, cots, housekeeping supplies, and other requested items.
  • Clean designated public areas, including public restrooms, fixtures, vending areas, storage areas, and other assigned spaces.
  • Report maintenance issues, needed repairs, and unsafe conditions to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Respond to guest concerns and complaints with professionalism and urgency, taking appropriate action to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor housekeeping supplies and amenities, using resources responsibly and minimizing waste.
  • Promote teamwork and exceptional service through effective daily communication and coordination with Housekeeping and other hotel departments.
  • Collect newspapers and other materials for recycling, as needed.
  • Assist with periodic deep-cleaning projects and other housekeeping initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
